Full coffee with a mild lungo aroma
The word "lungo" comes from Italian and literally means "long". However, it is also used to describe a "long coffee". The amount of water plays an important role here. A lungo contains two espressos and three times as much water. This makes the lungo not only weaker but also milder compared to an espresso.
The advantage is that the delicious cream is preserved. The Lungo is particularly popular on various occasions and in the afternoon with coffee and cake.
Your perfect coffee lungo
Due to the longer extraction time, more ingredients are filtered out when preparing a Lungo. This means that more aromas are released. Traditionally, this is how the Lungo is associated with the taste of a slightly less intense “espresso”.
The choice of bean for the lungo
The Lungo is milder than an espresso, but still full of aroma and offers a pleasantly gentle and therefore enjoyable taste experience. Both Arabica and Robusta beans are suitable for achieving this result. The quality of the beans is crucial for a perfect taste result. That's why we only use the best coffee beans in our compostable and aluminum-free coffee capsules.
Enjoy the characteristics of a lungo
An excellent Lungo should provide enjoyment with these characteristics due to the conditions of the brewing process and the raw materials used:
- Look forward to a voluminous pleasure.
- The aroma of a typical lungo will seem milder to you than that of a strong espresso.
- The flavour develops despite the lower intensity because the Lungo is prepared with more water.
The Lungo is traditionally served in slightly larger cups. You can refine it with milk and sugar according to your individual preferences. Discover many tips and wonderful recipes in our blog.
