Most people agree that the dressing is what makes a salad tasty. And anyone who thinks there is either Caesar dressing or a classic vinegar and oil dressing is very much mistaken. Of course, eating salad can quickly become boring and healthy eating is thrown out the window again. Time to add some variety to your salad creations! That's exactly why you should try this: balsamic vinegar with coffee. Just mix some balsamic vinegar with an espresso and that's it. Your salad will immediately become a lot more interesting. The dressing goes particularly well with lamb's lettuce, preferably with nuts, with tomatoes and mozzarella or burrata and especially in combination with fruit such as figs or nectarines. Here is a sample recipe:

INGREDIENTS

  • 150g lamb's lettuce
  • 70g Burrata
  • 70g small tomatoes
  • 1/4 cucumber
  • herb pepper or salt
  • a few grapes/figs or 1 nectarine
  • approx. 8 walnuts or nuts of your choice
  • 1 espresso (recommendation: Espresso Fortissimo)

PREPARATION

Wash the lettuce and pat dry, peel the cucumber. Dice the tomatoes and cucumber cut. Brew an espresso. Put some balsamic vinegar in a bowl and add the coffee a tablespoon at a time. Depending on your taste, you can find the optimal ratio of coffee and balsamic vinegar for you, so that both flavors come through well. A guideline is a 1:1 ratio. Cut the burrata. Roast the nuts in a pan and then chop roughly. Cut the fruit into slices. Finally, add the vegetables together, season with herb pepper or salt, pour the burrata and nuts over the top and finally pour the dressing onto the salad. drip.
