From Capuchin to Cappuccino
Cappuccino is a classic coffee variation that consists of an Espresso, poured with equal parts milk and milk foam. This creates the characteristic foam that characterizes this popular coffee. Originally, the cappuccino was based on the Austrian Kapuziner, a coffee specialty made from mocha and whipped cream. Over time, the drink has evolved and found its place as an integral part of Italian coffee culture.
The difference: cappuccino vs latte macchiato
The crucial difference between a latte macchiato and a cappuccino lies in their composition and texture. In a latte macchiato, hot milk foam is poured over an espresso, creating layers: first the espresso, followed by hot milk and finally milk foam on top. This results in a gentle, mild taste experience in which the milk makes the coffee softer and creamier. In contrast, the cappuccino consists of an espresso made with a similar ratio of milk and milk foam to the latte macchiato, but with a stronger foam and a more intense coffee flavor. The foam cap of the cappuccino is thicker and creamier, resulting in a stronger and more expressive enjoyment.
The perfect cappuccino preparation
For the perfect cappuccino, we recommend a special blend of Arabica and Robusta beans. This ensures a good balance between taste and crema, ideal for a creamy and aromatic cappuccino. You can make the perfect preparation with our blog post. This is how you can make the perfect cappuccino.
